Maurizio Ganz (born 13 October 1968) is a famous Italian football coach and former player. He was known for playing as a striker, which means he was a player who focused on scoring goals.

Playing for Football Clubs

Maurizio Ganz started his football journey with Sampdoria as a young player. He made his first professional appearance in 1986 in Serie A, which is Italy's top football league. He even won a trophy called the Coppa Italia with Sampdoria in 1988.

Early Career and Promotions

After Sampdoria, Ganz moved to Monza in Serie B, a league just below Serie A. He then helped Parma get promoted to Serie A in 1990. He spent two more seasons in Serie B with Brescia. In the 1991–92 season, he was the top goalscorer in Serie B with 19 goals. His amazing performance helped Brescia win the league title and move up to Serie A.

In 1992, Ganz joined Atalanta. He made his Serie A debut with them and scored 14 goals in his first season. He played for Atalanta for three seasons.

Success with Inter Milan

In 1995, Ganz joined Inter Milan, one of Italy's biggest clubs. He played for them for two seasons and scored 36 goals in 68 games. He was known as a great goalscorer and was even nicknamed "he always scores!"

During his time at Inter, he helped the team reach the final of the 1996–97 UEFA Cup, a big European competition. They lost the final, but Ganz was the top goalscorer in the tournament with eight goals. He also helped Inter finish third in Serie A and reach the semi-finals of the Coppa Italia.

Moving to AC Milan

In December 1997, Maurizio Ganz moved to AC Milan, Inter's local rivals. In his second season with Milan, he helped the team win the Scudetto, which is the Serie A league title. He scored many important goals, including one against his old team Inter in a huge 5–0 win during a Milan Derby cup match.

His third season at Milan was not as successful. He didn't play as much because the team had many other star players like Oliver Bierhoff and Andriy Shevchenko.

Later Career Teams

Ganz then went on loan to Venezia and later played for Atalanta again. He also played for Fiorentina as a replacement for an injured player.

He spent two seasons with Ancona in Serie B, helping them get promoted to Serie A in 2003. He then played for Modena and Lugano in Switzerland. Maurizio Ganz finished his playing career in 2007 with Pro Vercelli. He ended his career with an impressive total of 204 goals in 469 games!
