Maximilian Kronberger facts for kids
Maximilian Kronberger, often called Maximin, was a young German poet. He was born on April 15, 1888, and passed away on April 16, 1904. Maximin was an important part of a group of writers and artists. This group was led by the famous poet Stefan George.
Maximin's Short Life
Maximin met Stefan George in Munich around 1903. Some say they met earlier, in 1901 or 1902. Maximin died unexpectedly the next year, just one day after his 16th birthday. He passed away from a serious illness called meningitis.
After Maximin's death, Stefan George and his friends greatly admired him. Maximin's memory became a big source of inspiration for George's future writings. This special connection with Maximin helped George create many new works in the years that followed.
His Published Poems
Even though he died young, Maximin's poems were collected and published. Thirty-three of his poems are in a book called Maximin: Ein Gedenkbuch. This book was published after he passed away and is now quite rare.
