The mayor of Mississauga is like the main leader of the city of Mississauga. They are the head of the Mississauga City Council and the top boss of the city's government. The mayor works to make sure the city runs smoothly and serves its people.

The mayor is chosen by the people of Mississauga in an election. This election happens every four years, usually on the fourth Monday of October. There's no limit to how many times someone can be mayor. When someone is mayor, they are called His/Her Worship.

The current mayor is Carolyn Parrish. She became mayor on June 24, 2024. She was elected in a special election on June 10, 2024, after the previous mayor, Bonnie Crombie, stepped down.

Mayors of Mississauga

Mississauga has had several mayors since it became a town and then a city. Here's a look at the leaders who have served the community.

Town of Mississauga (1968-1973)

Before 1968, the different areas that make up Mississauga were led by people called "reeves." These areas included places like Clarkson, Cooksville, and Malton.
