The Mayor of Plano, Texas is like the main leader of the city. They are in charge of the Plano City Council, which is a group of people who help make decisions for the city. The current mayor is John B. Muns. He started his job in 2021 and is the 39th mayor of Plano.

How Long Does a Mayor Serve?
The amount of time a mayor serves in Plano has changed over the years. When the city first started, mayors served for just one year. In 1884, this changed to two-year terms.
Later, in 2006, the term became three years. Then, in 2011, it changed again to four years. As of 2023, a mayor can serve for a maximum of two terms. This means they can be mayor for up to eight years in total.
