Mazocruz, also known as Mazo Cruz, is a town located in the country of Peru. It is the main town, or capital, of the Santa Rosa District. This district is part of the El Collao Province in the Department of Puno. Mazocruz is found in the Peruvian Altiplano, which is a very high plateau in the Andes Mountains.
Climate in Mazocruz
Mazocruz is located at a high altitude, about 3,980 meters (13,058 feet) above sea level. This means the weather can be quite cool, especially at night. The town experiences a unique climate because of its elevation.
Weather Patterns
The climate in Mazocruz has two main seasons: a rainy season and a dry season. The rainy season usually runs from December to March, bringing most of the year's rainfall. The driest months are typically from May to August.
Days in Mazocruz can be mild, with average high temperatures around 15 to 19 degrees Celsius (59 to 66 degrees Fahrenheit). However, nights and early mornings are much colder. Temperatures can drop significantly, especially during the dry season, sometimes going below freezing. The coldest months are usually June and July.
