Kids Encyclopedia Facts

McDermont Field House is a super cool sports and entertainment center in Lindsay, California. It used to be an old building where oranges were packed! After a big makeover, it opened its doors on April 11, 2012. This huge place is about 172,000 sq ft (16,000 m2), which is like having three football fields under one roof! Sometimes, you might even spot Squeeze the Orange, the friendly mascot, on a TV screen near the entrance.

McDermont Field House has tons of fun things to do. It has two basketball courts big enough for college games. Downstairs, there's a huge 10,000 sq ft (930 m2) laser tag arena where you can play exciting games. There's also a 9,000 sq ft (840 m2) arcade filled with games, and places to grab snacks and food. You can even try surfing or bodyboarding indoors on the FlowRider!

If you love skateboarding, there's an indoor skate park. For those who like challenges, there's a tall 50 ft (15 m) climbing wall. The facility also has a full-size indoor soccer field with special turf, and a fun LightSpace Dance Floor that lights up as you move.

Besides sports and games, McDermont Field House is also a great place for concerts and other big events. It can host car shows, dances, and many other exhibitions.
