Playing for Clubs
Medin Zhega started his football journey with Vllaznia, a team from his hometown of Shkodër. Later, he moved to Dinamo Tirana. He played for both clubs multiple times throughout his career. During his time as a player, he helped his teams win several championships in Albania. Medin Zhega stopped playing football when he was 32 years old, on September 9, 1979.
Playing for Albania's National Team
Medin Zhega also played for the Albanian national team. He made his first appearance for Albania when he was 19 years old in May 1965. This was a World Cup qualifying match against Switzerland. He played a total of 11 games for his country and scored 3 goals. His last international game was in June 1971, during a European Championship qualifying match against West Germany.

After he stopped playing, Medin Zhega became a football manager, guiding teams from the sidelines.
Coaching Different Teams
Medin Zhega began his coaching career with his old club, Vllaznia. He later coached other teams like Albanet Tirana in Albania, Prishtina in Kosovo, and Shkëndija in North Macedonia. He even coached an amateur club in Germany called SV Bad Tölz 1925.

From 1999 to 2001, Medin Zhega was the manager of the Albanian national team. During this time, he led Albania to win the 2000 Rothmans International Tournament in 2000, which was a special achievement for the team.
