Early Life and Education
Meher Afroz Shaon was born to Mohammad Ali, an engineer, and Tahura Ali. Her mother, Tahura Ali, was a member of the Bangladesh Parliament. This means her mother helped make important decisions for the country.
Shaon went to Viqarunnisa Noon School and College and BAF Shaheen College Dhaka. She completed her high school studies in 1996 and 1998. Later, she studied at the University of Asia Pacific. In 2008, she earned a degree in Architecture.
Career Highlights
Shaon started her acting journey very early. She was a child artist for Bangladesh Television (BTV). Her first TV drama was Swadhinota Amar Swadhinota in 1988.
In 1991, she began working with the well-known director Humayun Ahmed on a drama called Jononee. She also appeared in popular TV series like Nokkhotrer Raat in 1996 and Aaj Robibar in 1999. The same year, she starred in the film Srabon Megher Din, directed by Humayun Ahmed.
Besides acting, Shaon has also directed many TV dramas and films. She even writes scripts for movies.
Personal Life
Shaon was married to Humayun Ahmed from 2004 until his passing in 2012. They have two sons named Nishad Humayun and Ninith Humayun.
