Melanie Liburd was born in England. Her mother was English, and her father was from Saint Kitts. She grew up in a place called Herefordshire.
Before she became an actress, Melanie studied Fashion Design and earned a degree. Later, she decided to follow her passion for acting. She trained at a special school called Identity School of Acting.

Melanie Liburd started her TV acting career in 2012. Her first role was in the Sky One series Strike Back. In the same year, she also got a part in a comedy TV show that was just starting.
