Melissa Anne Peterson (born December 17, 1968), known as Melissa Wiley, is an American author. She writes books especially for children. She is famous for two book series. These series are about the family of Laura Ingalls Wilder. Laura Ingalls Wilder wrote the Little House on the Prairie books.

Melissa Wiley also writes for Wired.com's GeekMom blog. She creates a webcomic with her husband, Scott Peterson.
