Mella is a town and a special kind of area called a municipality in Santiago de Cuba Province, Cuba. It is located about 20 kilometers (12 miles) north of a town called Palma Soriano.

Mella was named after a famous Cuban historical figure, Julio Antonio Mella. He was a revolutionary and a communist leader. This means he worked to change society and government in Cuba.

Besides the main town of Mella, the municipality also includes other smaller communities. These include Mangos de Baraguá, Palmarito de Cauto, and Regina. There are also a few other tiny villages.
