A Look Back at Memphis
Memphis had a post office that opened in 1866. This was a place where people could send and receive letters and packages. The post office stayed open for many years, but it closed down in 1902. By 1915, Memphis was described as just a "cluster of houses," meaning it was a very small group of homes.
