Menthe people facts for kids
The Menthe people, sometimes called Menthajangal (Menhdheyangal), are an Indigenous Australian group. They live in the Northern Territory of Australia. Like many Indigenous groups, the Menthe have a deep connection to their traditional lands.
Where the Menthe People Lived
The Menthe people traditionally lived on about 777 square kilometers (300 square miles) of land. This area was located around the Bonaparte Gulf. Their coastal lands stretched south from a place called Red Cliff, going past Cape Scott. Inland, their territory extended about 16 kilometers (10 miles) from the coast. This part of their land bordered the coastal swamps in that region.
