Meridian Female College facts for kids
The Meridian Female College was a special school for girls. It was started in 1865 in Meridian, Mississippi. Members of the Mississippi Baptist Convention created this college to provide education for young women.

The Meridian Female College first opened its doors in 1865. A person named Rev. John B. Hamberlin founded the school. He was the leader of the college for seven years.
In 1872, L. M. Stone became the new leader of the college. The school continued to teach young women for many years. However, by the year 1904, the Meridian Female College had closed.
