How Metcalfe's Skinny Started
Metcalfe's Skinny Popcorn began in 2009. It was created by two people, Julian Metcalfe and Matthew Ziff. Julian Metcalfe also started other popular food places like Itsu and Pret a Manger.
At first, Metcalfe's Skinny was part of a larger food company. This company made many different snacks and grocery items for Itsu.
Becoming Its Own Company
In 2015, the big food group decided to split up. Metcalfe's Skinny became its very own business. The Itsu grocery items became part of the main Itsu brand. This meant Metcalfe's Skinny could focus just on its healthy snacks.
New Owners and New Look
In 2016, a company called Kettle Chips bought some of Metcalfe's Skinny. Later that year, Kettle Chips' owner, Snyder's-Lance, bought the rest of the company. This meant Metcalfe's Skinny had new owners.
After the change in ownership, Metcalfe's Skinny launched new packaging for its products. They also updated their website. The new look removed any mention of Julian Metcalfe or Pret a Manger.
