Mia Rose, whose real name is Maria Antónia Teixeira Rosa, was born on January 26, 1988. She is a singer and songwriter from England with Portuguese family roots. Mia Rose became very famous because of her videos on YouTube, a popular website where people share videos.

Her Music Journey

Mia Rose was born in Wimbledon, London. She started her YouTube channel on December 29, 2006, during a break from university. She began posting videos every day where she sang different cover songs. A cover song is when an artist sings a song that was originally performed by someone else.

Early YouTube Success

Within just one month, Mia Rose set a new record for the most subscribers for a musician on YouTube! By November 2010, she had over 265,000 subscribers. Her success on YouTube led her to speak at big events like Google Zeitgeist and the SIME Conference in Sweden in 2008.

First Songs and Big Steps

In May 2009, Mia Rose wrote and recorded her own song called "Let Go." She sold it on iTunes in Portugal, and it quickly became the best-selling download there. The song even reached number 2 on the Portuguese music charts!

She also performed a song called "Waiting on the World to Change" with a musician from Jordan named Hanna Gargour. The Queen of Jordan, Queen Rania, even said that this song showed how art can help bring people from different cultures closer together.

Her second single, which had two songs, was released on December 2, 2009. These songs were "What Would Christmas Be Like?" and "Fallin’ For You." Mia Rose wrote "What Would Christmas Be Like?" herself, while "Fallin' For You" was a song by Colbie Caillat.

Her videos on YouTube have been watched more than 140 million times! She has also been featured in famous magazines like Rolling Stone and The Age, and she was interviewed on BBC Radio 5 Live.

Working with Music Industry Leaders

In January 2007, a music producer named Ryan Leslie signed Mia Rose to a music company. A month later, another famous music executive, Tommy Mottola, signed her for management. While in the United States, she worked with talented producers and writers. She recorded two songs, "Hold Me Now" and "Hot Boy," but they were not officially released.

Later, Mia Rose returned to Europe. In 2009, her song "Let Go" was used in the soundtrack of a Brazilian TV show called Living Life. In 2010, she signed a management contract with an agency in Australia called Showcase Of Stars.
