Miami Sound Machine facts for kids
Miami Sound Machine was a famous American music group. They played Latin music, which is a style of music from Latin America. The group started in 1975.
At first, they were called "Miami Latin Boys". In 1977, a talented singer named Gloria Estefan joined the group. Another woman also joined at the same time. After that, the group changed its name to "Miami Sound Machine". The group became very successful after Gloria Estefan became their lead singer.
The band created many hit songs and popular albums. Later, starting with their album Let it Loose, the group's name changed again. They were then known as "Gloria Estefan and Miami Sound Machine". In 1989, the group name was no longer used. Gloria Estefan began performing as a solo artist under her own name.
In 2002, a new music group started using the "Miami Sound Machine" name. However, none of the original band members were part of this new group. They did not become as famous or successful as the first group.
