Michael Malarkey's Early Life
Michael Malarkey was born in Beirut, Lebanon. His father, Jim Malarkey, was Irish American. His mother, Nadia Bushrui, has British, Palestinian, and Italian family roots.
Michael is the oldest of three brothers. He grew up in Yellow Springs, Ohio, in the United States. In 2006, he moved to England. There, he studied acting at the London Academy of Music and Dramatic Art.
Michael Malarkey's Career in Acting
Michael Malarkey started his acting career on stage in London. He performed in several plays. These included lead roles in Spring Storm and Beyond the Horizon. He also played Jay Gatsby in The Great Gatsby. He even played Elvis Presley in the musical Million Dollar Quartet.
Malarkey also appeared in TV shows and movies. He had roles in Raw and Mr. Sloane. He then got a big role as Lorenzo "Enzo" St. John. This was in season 5 of The Vampire Diaries. Fans really liked his character. Because of this, he became a main cast member for seasons 6, 7, and 8.
In 2017, he was in an episode of Jean-Claude Van Johnson. The next year, he joined the crime show The Oath.
In 2019, Malarkey played "Cinch Barton" in the movie A Violent Separation. That same year, he starred as Captain Michael Quinn. This was in Project Blue Book for The History Channel.
In 2021, he had a role as Deputy Harvey in Big Sky. He also appeared in Westworld and Quantum Leap in 2022. In 2023, he was in Law & Order: Organized Crime. In 2024, it was announced he would join the show The Night Agent on Netflix.
Michael Malarkey's Music Journey
After high school, Michael Malarkey joined a band called Shadyside. He became the lead singer. He spent five years touring and recording with the band. During this time, he also learned to play the guitar.
As a solo artist, he released two EPs (short albums) in 2014 and 2015. His first full album, Mongrels, came out in 2017. He also released music videos for some songs from it. In 2018, he released another EP called Captain Solitaire. His second album, Graveracer, was released in 2020.

Michael Malarkey married English actress Nadine Lewington in 2009. They have two sons. Their sons were born in 2014 and 2019. Michael and Nadine even appeared together in one episode of Project Blue Book.
