Later, in November 1640, he was elected again for a longer period. He continued to serve as an MP until 1644.

The English Civil War

The English Civil War was a big conflict in England. It was fought between those who supported King Charles I (called Royalists) and those who supported Parliament. Michael Warton was a strong supporter of the King. Because he sided with the King, he was removed from his position in Parliament in 1644.
