Michale Graves' Music Journey

Joining the Misfits Band

Michale Graves grew up in Dumont, New Jersey. He was recording music with his band, The Mopes, when he heard that the Misfits were looking for a new singer. Graves learned their songs and officially joined the band about a year later.

In 2008, Graves said he would return to the Misfits if asked. He performed with some former Misfits members in 2009, playing songs from his time with the band.

Graves sang on Misfits albums like American Psycho and Famous Monsters. He also helped write many songs for the band, including "Dig Up Her Bones" and "American Psycho".

The Lost Boys Project

In 2000, during a break from touring with the Misfits, Graves and Dr. Chud formed a band called The Lost Boys. They played a couple of shows before the Misfits started touring again. The Lost Boys played songs Graves had written for the Misfits and for his future band, Graves.

Forming the Band Graves

After leaving the Misfits in 2000, Michale Graves and Dr. Chud started a new band called Graves. They released one album called Web of Dharma. The band toured successfully, but they eventually broke up due to disagreements between Graves and Dr. Chud.

Creating Gotham Road

Graves then formed Gotham Rd with new bandmates. They released one album before Graves decided to join the U.S. Marines. He was later honorably discharged due to a back injury. Gotham Road went on two successful tours and released some new songs. They later reunited for a special show, playing songs from Graves' solo work, his band Graves, and some Misfits songs he wrote.

Solo Music and Other Projects

Early Solo Albums (2005–2008)

Before joining the Marines, Graves recorded his first solo album, Punk Rock Is Dead, in 2005. He wrote and recorded the entire album in just one month. After leaving the Marines, he toured to support the album.

In 2006, Graves released his second solo album, Return to Earth. He also worked with Damien Echols on an album called Illusions, released in 2007. A year later, he released a live album and demo EP called Illusions Live/Viretta Park.

New Music from 2012 to Today

Starting in 2012, Graves began working with Hydraulic Entertainment. They released many albums together, including Vagabond, which showed a different side of his music, mixing folk, rock, and country. They also released Lost Skeleton Returns, which brought him back to his horror punk style.

He continued to release acoustic versions of his albums, like Vagabond Acoustic and Supernatural. In 2016, he released When Worlds Collide, a full-band album with punk and horror punk songs. He also released Bedlam, an acoustic version of When Worlds Collide.

Michale Graves has worked on many music projects with Hydraulic Entertainment. As of 2021, he is touring the U.S. and plans to tour South America in 2022.

In 2013, he was a guest singer on "Zombie Romance" for Snow White's Poison Bite. In 2014, he released a double album with the Russian punk band Night of Samhain, singing English versions of their songs. He also read classic horror stories for an album called Nightmares in 2015.
