Michiharu Otagiri (小田切 道治, Otagiri Michiharu, born September 2, 1978) is a former Japanese football player. He used to play as a defender. Today, he is the manager of J3 League team Kataller Toyama.

Michiharu Otagiri's Football Journey
Michiharu Otagiri was born in Ishikawa Prefecture, Japan, on September 2, 1978. After finishing high school, he started his professional football career in 1997.
Playing as a Defender
Otagiri joined Kyoto Purple Sanga, a team in Japan's top league, J1 League. He stayed there for two years but didn't get to play in any official matches. In 1999, he moved to Ventforet Kofu, a team in the J2 League. He played as a left-sided defender, but he still didn't get much playing time.
Finding His Place
In 2000, Otagiri joined Jatco TT, a team in the Japan Football League (JFL). This is where he really started to shine! He became a regular player, meaning he played in most of the team's matches. He stayed with Jatco until the end of the 2003 season when the club unfortunately closed down.
Joining Kataller Toyama
In 2004, Michiharu Otagiri moved to another JFL team called YKK AP, which later became known as Kataller Toyama. He continued to be a key player for them until 2007. In 2009, his team, Kataller Toyama, was promoted to the J2 League. Otagiri played his last season there before retiring from playing football at the end of 2009. During his career, he played in 228 matches and scored 15 goals.
From Player to Coach
After retiring as a player, Michiharu Otagiri decided to stay in football and become a coach.
Coaching Young Players
In 2010, he started coaching the Under-15 team for Kataller Toyama. This meant he was helping younger players learn and develop their skills.
Managing the Main Team
Later, Michiharu Otagiri became the manager of the main Kataller Toyama team. He took on this important role on September 19, 2022. As a manager, he guides the team during matches and training. So far, he has managed 15 games, winning 9 of them, drawing 1, and losing 5.
