Mickey's Pirate and Princess Party facts for kids
Mickey's Pirate and Princess Party was a special event at the Magic Kingdom park in Walt Disney World Resort in Florida. It happened from January to June. To go, you needed a separate ticket. This fun party brought together two popular Disney worlds: the Disney Princesses and the Pirates of the Caribbean movies. A similar event was planned for Disneyland Paris in 2011 but was later canceled.

The Walt Disney World Party
Magic Kingdom's Themed Areas
Each part of the Magic Kingdom park was decorated and themed for royalty or pirates.
- Adventureland - New Tortuga and Jasmine's Court:
In New Tortuga, you could find many pirate activities. Kids could join Captain Jack's Pirate Tutorial to learn how to be a pirate from Captain Jack Sparrow himself! There was also a live pirate band. You could meet characters like Goofy, Pluto, Captain Hook, and Mr. Smee. At Jasmine's Court, young princes and princesses learned how to be a Royal Guard for Princess Jasmine. You could meet Aladdin, Jasmine, Abu, and Genie here.
- Liberty Square - Riverboat Riviera:
Here, guests could hear exciting stories about the legend of the Jolly Roger. You could also meet characters from Pocahontas, including Pocahontas, Meeko, and John Smith.
- Fantasyland - Ariel's Court:
This area hosted Sebastian's Under the Sea Dance Party. You could dance with friends from The Little Mermaid. You could also meet Ariel herself!
- Tomorrowland - Solaris' System:
Throughout Tomorrowland, you could see different fun acts, including breakdancing pirates! There was also another dance party called Eclipse's Mixes - DJ Dance Party. Guests could have an amazing time with their favorite Tomorrowland characters.
- Mickey's Toontown Fair - The Princess Pavilion:
This spot had an outdoor pirate play area for kids. They could join in many pirate-themed games and activities. You could also meet royalty like Cinderella, Belle, and Aurora.
The Adventure Map
When you entered the party, you received a small pirate bag and your very own Adventure Map. This map of the Magic Kingdom had clues on it. Guests could follow the clues to find different spots around the park. When you solved a riddle, you received your own pirate treasure or princess gems! The treats included plastic pirate coins, beads, chocolate treasure, and shiny gems.
Activities and Entertainment
- Disney's Enchanted Adventures Parade
This was a brand new parade made just for this event. It featured all the Princesses and Pirates, including Peter Pan and Wendy. The parade had many characters and dancers from your favorite pirate and princess movies. It included amazing floats. Some characters and knights even rode horses through the park!
- Magic, Music and Mayhem
This was a special fireworks show held only during this event. It lit up the night sky with magic!
- Dream Along With Mickey
A special nighttime version of this daily show was performed.
- Dance Parties
Sebastian's Under the Sea Dance Party was hosted by Sebastian the crab and Flounder, Ariel's best friend. It took place at Ariel's Grotto in Fantasyland. Kids of all ages could dance with Flounder, Sebastian, and other underwater friends. In Tomorrowland, at Cosmic Ray's Starlight Cafe, guests could dance with their favorite Tomorrowland characters. These included Lilo and Stitch from Lilo & Stitch, as well as Chip and Dale.
Disneyland Paris Version
A smaller version of this event was planned for Disneyland Paris in June 2011. However, the event was canceled in April 2011. No specific reason was given. The idea for the event was later used in 2018 as part of Disneyland Paris's 25th anniversary celebration.
