Middle Brother Islet, Queensland facts for kids
Middle Brother Islet is a tiny, empty island located in the Torres Strait in Queensland, Australia. It sits near the eastern entrance of the Adolphus Channel. This small island is about 7 km south of Mount Adolphus Island, 7 km east of Albany Island, and 1.5 km west of the South Ledge Reef.
Middle Brother Islet is found on the northwest edge of the Middle Brother Reef. It's positioned right in the middle of the North Brother Rock (which is 1.3 km to the northwest) and the South Brother Reef. The islet itself is quite small, measuring about 80 m long and 50 m wide. As of 2011, the waters around the island were protected by the Government of Queensland as a special Habitat Protection Zone (number 10-323). This means the area is important for protecting marine life.
