Midian was an oil boom town in the early 20th century.

Midian is a small, unincorporated community located in Butler County, Kansas, in the United States. An "unincorporated community" is a place where people live that doesn't have its own local government, like a city or town. Midian was once a busy place, especially in the early 1900s, because of the oil industry.

History of Midian

Midian became an important spot during the oil boom in the early 20th century. Many people moved there to work in the oil fields. To help the growing community, a post office was opened in Midian in 1918. This post office served the residents for many years, helping them send and receive mail. However, as the oil boom slowed down and the community changed, the post office eventually closed its doors in 1950.
