You can find many different places here. There's Midtown Fitness, a place to work out, and the Tuscan Center, which is used for parties and events. Some well-known businesses like US Bank and Red Wing Shoes have spots here. You'll also find local places like a coffee shop and a hair salon. Even offices for the Department of Motor Vehicles and the University of Minnesota are located inside the mall.
The Story of Midtown Square
Midtown Square was built and finished in 1982. It started with a huge space for shops and offices. In 1985, another small building was added in the parking lot. This new building gave the mall even more retail space. A US Bank branch opened there.
Over the years, Midtown Square Mall has been a busy place. It has hosted many local arts and crafts festivals. It also holds different charity events to help the community.
A large event space called Tuscan Center opened in April 2013. This filled a big empty spot in the mall. The Tuscan Center grew even bigger in late 2015. It added more space, a coffee shop, and an outdoor patio. A restaurant also opened there for people attending events. The Tuscan Center has three rooms for meetings and banquets. They can hold about 425 people in total.
In March 2016, the St. Cloud school district moved its main offices to the mall. This happened after a fire damaged their old building. The school district already used space in the mall for special learning programs. They then rented more space to fit all their needs.
Other businesses have also been part of the mall. The St. Cloud Department of Motor Vehicles offices are located here. Another business, Old Country Buffet, used to be a tenant but later closed. The mall's own management offices have always been right inside the mall since it opened.
