Miguel Ángel Martínez-González (born in 1957 in Málaga, Spain) is a Spanish doctor and professor. He studies how what we eat affects our health. He is known for his work on the Mediterranean diet. He has also visited and worked at Harvard University in the USA.

For many years, he led the Department of Preventive Medicine and Public Health. This department is at the University of Navarra in Spain. He helped start this important part of the Medical School.

He was also the main researcher for a big study called PREDIMED-Plus. This study received a special grant from the European Research Council.

In September 2016, he became an Adjunct Professor at Harvard University. He works with another professor, Frank B. Hu. They are working on two projects. These projects are funded by the US National Institutes of Health (NIH).

In 2022, he received a very important award in Spain. It was the "Gregorio Marañón" National Scientific Research Award. The Spanish government gave him this award for his work in medicine and health sciences.

In 2024, the University of Almería in Spain gave him a special honor. They named him Doctor Honoris Causa. This is a high academic honor.
