Miguel Pallardó: A Football Journey
Early Career at Valencia
Miguel Pallardó was born in Alaquàs, a town in Spain. He started his football journey in the youth academy of Valencia CF. He played a role similar to a "holding midfielder," helping to defend and control the middle of the field.
He joined Valencia's main team for the 2006–07 season. During this time, he played in ten La Liga games. His very first game in the top league was on May 15, 2005, where he played for ten minutes in a 2–2 draw against RCD Espanyol.
Before joining the main team, Miguel spent the 2005–06 season playing for Valencia's reserve team. They played in the Tercera División, which is a lower division league.
Playing for Getafe and Levante
In July 2007, Miguel was loaned to Getafe CF. This meant he played for Getafe for a while but was still officially a Valencia player. He played 14 matches in the top division during his first year there.
In August 2008, Getafe bought him permanently. However, he was then loaned to Levante UD, a team in the Segunda División (Spain's second division). This allowed him to return to his home region. On November 8, he scored his first goal as a professional player. This goal helped Levante win 2–1 against CD Tenerife.
Miguel had a very good season with Levante. He was loaned to them again and became an even more important player. He played 35 games and helped the team get promoted back to La Liga after two years. He continued to play regularly in the 2010–11 season, and Levante managed to stay in the top league.
On June 17, 2011, Miguel officially left Getafe and signed a three-year contract with Levante. However, during this time, he struggled to become a regular starter and also faced some injuries. In January 2013, he was loaned to UD Almería, another team in the second division, until June.
Time in Scotland with Hearts
In August 2014, Miguel tried out for a French team called FC Sochaux-Montbéliard, but he didn't sign a permanent deal with them. On September 11, he signed a one-year contract with Heart of Midlothian, a team in Scotland.
He played his first game for Hearts on October 4, 2014. He came on as a substitute for the last 12 minutes of a 3–0 win against Queen of the South. On January 31, 2015, he scored his first goal for the club. It was the first goal in a 4–1 away victory over Alloa Athletic.
Miguel played 23 games and helped his team get promoted. Because of his good performance, he extended his contract with Hearts for another season on May 29, 2015. About a year later, in 2016, it was announced that he would leave the club.
Representing Spain
Miguel Pallardó also played for Spain's national youth teams. In 2007, he was called up to the Spain under-21 team and played two matches that year. He also represented Spain at the under-17 and under-19 levels.
