Mika Aereen Marcaliñas Reyes (born June 21, 1994) is a famous Filipino volleyball player. She plays as a middle hitter or blocker. Currently, she is a key player for the PLDT High Speed Hitters team in the Premier Volleyball League.

About Mika Reyes

Mika Reyes grew up in Pulilan, Bulacan, a town in the Philippines. Her family owns a resort there. She went to high school at St. Scholastica's College, Manila. After high school, she was invited to play volleyball for De La Salle University. She studied AB Psychology and finished her degree in 2016.

Mika's Volleyball Journey

Mika Reyes has achieved a lot in her volleyball career. She has won many awards and played for several top teams.

Early Achievements

Mika showed her talent early on.

  • In 2013, she was named the "Best Attacker" at the PVF Intercollegiate Volleyball Championship.
  • She was also the "Most Valuable Player" in the same championship in 2015.
  • At the 2014 Philippine National Games, she won the "Best Blocker" award.
  • In 2015, she was recognized as the "1st Best Middle Blocker" at the same games.

Collegiate Success

Mika was a big part of the DLSU Lady Spikers team. They won championships in the UAAP (University Athletic Association of the Philippines) in Season 74, Season 75, and Season 78.

Professional Career

After college, Mika joined professional volleyball teams.

  • In 2016, she played for F2 Logistics Cargo Movers. During this time, she became a brand ambassador for the Philippine Super Liga.
  • She was also chosen to join the Philippine team for the 2016 FIVB Volleyball Women's Club World Championship. This was a big international competition.
  • On January 11, 2017, Mika signed a two-year contract with the Petron Blaze Spikers.

Playing for the Philippines

Mika has proudly represented the Philippines in international games.

  • She was part of the PSL (Philippine Super Liga) All-Stars team.
  • This team competed in the 2016 FIVB Volleyball Women's Club World Championship.
  • They also played in the 2017 Asian Women's Club Volleyball Championship in Kazakhstan.
  • In Thailand, they won a bronze medal at the 2017 Annual H.R.H. Princess Maha Chakri Sirindhorn's Cup.
  • In May 2017, Mika was named captain of the Philippine women's national volleyball team.
  • As captain, she led the team in the 2017 Asian Women's Volleyball Championship and the 2017 Southeast Asian Games in Malaysia.

  • In 2017, they won a silver medal in the PSL Invitational Cup.
  • They also won a gold medal in the 2017 PSL All-Filipino Conference, where Mika was named "Second Best Middle Blocker."
  • She earned the "First Best Middle Blocker" award and a silver medal in the 2017 PSL Grand Prix Conference.
  • Mika played for the Sta. Lucia Lady Realtors from 2020 to 2021.
  • Currently, she plays for the PLDT High Speed Hitters.
