Mikaele Pesamino, born on April 2, 1984, is a famous rugby player from Samoa. He is best known for playing in the Samoa Sevens team.

In the 2009–2010 season, he scored the most points in the IRB Sevens World Series. This helped his country win their first-ever World Series title! Because of his amazing performance, he was named the 2010 IRB World Rugby Sevens Player of the Year.

Early Sporting Days

Mikaele Pesamino grew up in Vailele, a town on the island of Upolu in Samoa. He was first noticed for his incredible speed. This happened when he played for Leifiifi College in a big athletics competition.

After that, he decided to focus on his rugby career. He also played Australian rules football when he was younger. As a teenager, he was part of the Samoan national Australian rules football team. He even played in the 2002 and 2005 International Cups for Australian rules football.

Samoa Sevens Success

Pesamino became a key player for the Samoa national rugby sevens team. Rugby sevens is a faster version of rugby with fewer players. The team plays in the IRB Sevens World Series, which has tournaments in many countries each year.

He was one of the top try scorers in the 2007–2008 Sevens Series. Then, in the 2009–2010 season, he scored the most tries of anyone! This was the season Samoa won their first World Series title.

In 2007, Pesamino scored a try in the final of the 2007 Wellington Sevens tournament. This helped Samoa beat Fiji 17–14 and win their first-ever tournament.

Playing for Clubs

Mikaele Pesamino also played a different type of rugby called rugby union, which has fifteen players. He played for a team called Auckland in New Zealand.

Later, he signed with a team in England called Sale Sharks in 2010. However, his transfer to the team faced some challenges.
