Michael S. Kellogg (born September 27, 1941 – died June 25, 2023) was an American radio announcer and a well-known voice on the radio. He was famous for being a main announcer at Moody Radio and hosted a popular show called Music Thru The Night. He worked there until he retired in 2014.

Mike Kellogg's Early Life and Education

Mike Kellogg was born in Detroit, Michigan, on September 26, 1941. His parents were Robert Kellogg and Georgia Lyman. He later went to college at Cedarville College in Cedarville, Ohio. After his studies, Kellogg moved to Valparaiso, Indiana.

Mike Kellogg's Career in Radio

Mike Kellogg first dreamed of becoming a writer. When he was young, he got a job at a newspaper company. Later, he started writing for a broadcasting company in Chicago.

In late 1982, Kellogg was hired to host Music Thru the Night for Moody Radio. On this show, Kellogg spoke to people listening late at night. He shared a calm but clear message about living a full life with faith. His voice was often described as poetic and dramatic. You can still hear his voice in the audio version of the New Living Translation (NLT) of the Bible.

Kellogg also hosted Today in the Word. This was a short, two-minute radio program that aired daily. He also wrote articles for Moody Radio. Besides his work in radio, Kellogg taught English and speech. He taught these subjects at the Moody Bible Institute. He also helped create and acted in many radio plays. These plays were made between the 1970s and 1990s.

Mike Kellogg officially retired from his radio career in May 2014.

Mike Kellogg was married to Nancy Smith. They got married in 1965 and stayed together until his death. They had six children and ten grandchildren. Kellogg lived in Valparaiso, Indiana for many years. He also taught about the New Testament, which is part of the Bible.

Mike Kellogg passed away in Valparaiso on June 25, 2023. He was 81 years old.

Awards and Recognition
