Mikio Manaka's Football Journey
Mikio Manaka was born in Bando, Japan, on May 22, 1969. After finishing his studies at the University of Tsukuba, he began his professional football career in 1992.
Playing for JEF United Ichihara
Mikio joined JEF United Ichihara in 1992. From 1994, he became a key player for the team, often playing as a central defender. He played many matches for them over several years.
Moving to Other Clubs
In 1997, Mikio moved to Brummell Sendai, a team in the Japan Football League. He only played a few games there before moving to Omiya Ardija in 1998.
Success with Yokohama FC
In 1999, Mikio joined Yokohama FC, another team in the Japan Football League. This was a very successful time for him. His team won the championship in both 1999 and 2000. These wins helped Yokohama FC get promoted to the J2 League, which is a higher division of professional football in Japan.
In July 2004, Mikio's younger brother, Yasuo Manaka, also joined Yokohama FC. Both brothers played together for a short time. Mikio Manaka retired from playing football at the end of the 2004 season, at the same time as his brother Yasuo.
