Mimi Wagensonner was born on March 13, 1897. Her birthplace was a town called Aussig an der Elbe. This town is now part of the Czech Republic. Her parents were Franz and Maria Schipper. Mimi grew up with one brother and one sister. When she was a child, her family moved to Vienna, Austria. Later, in 1923, she married Josef Wagensonner. She had a son named Diether. She also had a stepson named Hermann.

Her Musical Education

Mimi Wagensonner loved music and studied it seriously. She learned to play the piano from teachers like A. Subak. She also studied harmony, which is about how musical notes fit together. Her harmony teacher was Richard Stohr. Mimi also learned composition, which means creating music. She studied composition with Karl Weigl at the New Vienna Conservatory. Mimi also spent time at the Music Academy in Vienna. Today, this school is known as the University of Music and Performing Arts Vienna. She both studied and taught music there.
