Minatitlán is a town located in the Mexican state of Colima. It is the main town, or "municipal seat," for the area known as the Minatitlán Municipality. This means it's where the local government for the surrounding region is located.
What People Do for Work in Minatitlán
Minatitlán has a strong economy, mostly based on farming. Farmers here grow many different kinds of crops. These include coffee beans, corn, and tasty fruits like mangoes and oranges. They also grow rice, sugar cane, and jalapeño peppers.
Besides farming, there is a very large iron mine nearby. This mine is called "Peña Colorada" and is found at Astilla mount. The iron mine is a big part of the town's economy. It provides many jobs for the people living in Minatitlán.
