Mint tea is a special kind of herbal tea. It is made by putting mint leaves into hot water. This process is called "infusing" the tea.
If you use peppermint leaves, the drink is called peppermint tea. When you use spearmint leaves, it's known as spearmint tea. Sometimes, people even mix both peppermint and spearmint leaves together! In Korea, there's a traditional mint tea called bakha-cha (박ha차). It's made from a type of mint called East Asian wild mint.
Why People Drink Mint Tea
Mint leaves have special natural oils inside them. These oils, especially one called menthol, make mint tea popular. Many people drink mint tea because they believe it helps them feel better.
It is thought to help your digestion system. This means it can make your tummy feel more comfortable. It might also help with swelling inside your body.
