Mintonville is a small place in Kentucky, USA. It's known as an unincorporated community, which means it's a town that doesn't have its own local government like a city does. Mintonville is located in the very southeastern part of Casey County, right at the base of a hill called Green River Knob.
History of Mintonville
The plans for Mintonville were first drawn up in 1849. The town began to be built a couple of years later, in 1851.
How Mintonville Got Its Name
Mintonville got its name when its first post office opened. This happened on October 3, 1851. The first person in charge of the post office, called the postmaster, was James Wesley. He decided to name the community after Robert Minton.
