Casey County is a county in Kentucky, a state in the United States. In 2020, about 15,941 people lived there. The main town, or county seat, is called Liberty.

The county was started in 1806. It was created from a part of Lincoln County. Casey County is named after Colonel William Casey. He was an early settler who moved his family to Kentucky in 1779.

Casey County is special because it's the only county in Kentucky completely within the Knobs region. It's also known for its yearly Casey County Apple Festival. This area is considered part of the Appalachian region of Kentucky.

Casey County was officially formed in 1806. The land for the county came from Lincoln County.

The current courthouse in Liberty was built in 1889. It is the third courthouse the county has had.

Casey County covers a total area of about 446 square miles (1,155 square kilometers). Most of this area, about 444 square miles (1,150 square kilometers), is land. Only a small part, about 1.5 square miles (3.9 square kilometers), is water.

The highest point in Casey County is a place called Green River Knob. It is about 1,789 feet (545 meters) tall.
