Dunnville got its name from a man named James Richard Dunn. He came from Virginia and settled in this area way back in the 1840s. James Dunn was important because he ran a mill here. Mills were super important long ago for grinding grain into flour.
The community even got its own post office a bit later. It first opened its doors on July 3, 1879. That's over 140 years ago!
