Miodrag Živković (Serbian Cyrillic: Миодраг Живковић; 1928 – 31 July 2020) was a famous Serbian sculptor and university professor. He is best known for creating large memorial sculptures across Yugoslavia and other countries. These memorials often honor important historical events and people.

Miodrag Živković: A Sculptor's Story
Early Life and Education
Miodrag Živković was born in Leskovac in 1928. When he was 16, his family moved to Belgrade in 1944. He studied art at the Academy of Applied Arts in Belgrade, finishing his studies in 1952.
University Career
After graduating, Živković first worked as an art teacher in Mladenovac and Novi Beograd. Later, he became a professor at the Faculty of Applied Arts within the University of Arts in Belgrade. He was even the Dean (the head) of the Faculty from 1974 to 1977. From 1977 to 1984, he led the sculpture department. He served as Dean again from 1991 to 1996. Miodrag Živković passed away in Belgrade on July 31, 2020.
Famous Sculptures and Memorials
Besides his teaching career, Miodrag Živković created many impressive sculptures. Many of his works are large memorial complexes. These are special places with sculptures and monuments that remember important events or people. His sculptures can be found across the former Yugoslavia and in other parts of the world.

- "Broken Wings" in Kragujevac, Serbia (1963). This memorial remembers a sad event from World War II.

- Memorial Park "Uprising and Revolution" in Grahovo, Montenegro (1978).
- Kadinjača Memorial Complex near Užice, Serbia (1952–1979).
- "Freedom" in Ulcinj, Montenegro (1985).
- Monument to the Royal Yugoslav Air Force defenders of Belgrade in New Belgrade, Serbia (1994).
