Miramar is a city located in the state of Tamaulipas, Mexico. It is near the southeastern tip of the state. Miramar is the largest city in the municipality of Altamira. It is also the third largest city in the Tampico Metropolitan Area.
In 2020, about 161,820 people lived in Miramar. This makes it the biggest town in its municipality. It is also the seventh-largest community in the entire state of Tamaulipas.

Where is Miramar Located?
The city of Miramar is in the southern part of the state of Tamaulipas. It is part of the Altamira municipality. Miramar is about 11 meters (36 feet) above sea level.
Miramar is connected to other cities. To the south, it joins with Tampico and Ciudad Madero. To the north, it connects with the city of Altamira. Around Miramar, you can find several lagoons. These include the Miralta Lagoon to the west and the Miramar Lagoon to the east. There is also the "El Gringo" Lagoon nearby.

Miramar has a tropical subhumid climate. This means it is warm and humid for most of the year. The average temperature is about 24.5 °C (76.1 °F). The city gets about 976.3 millimeters (38.4 inches) of rain each year.

Miramar is the 7th most populated city in Tamaulipas. It is the 91st most populated city in all of Mexico. The city has grown a lot because it is close to Tampico. Tampico does not have much space to grow. So, new people moving to the Tampico area often settle in Miramar.
Miramar was a small rural town in the 1980s. It had fewer than 2,000 people. Now, it is one of the main urban centers in the state. Its population is almost 200,000. Experts think it will become the most populated city in the Tampico Metropolitan Area soon.
