Miss Pooja was born in Rajpura, Punjab. Her parents are Inderpal Kainth and Saroj Devi. She studied music at university. She earned a B.A. in Vocal and Instrumental Skills. Later, she got her M.A. in Music. She also completed a B.Ed. in Music.

After finishing her studies, Miss Pooja worked as a music teacher. She taught at Patel Public School in Rajpura. She also got involved in politics for a short time.
