Mitsuru Chiyotanda (千代反田 充, Chiyotanda Mitsuru, born June 1, 1980) is a former professional Japanese football player. He played as a defender throughout his career. Chiyotanda is known for his time with several Japanese clubs, including Avispa Fukuoka, Albirex Niigata, and Nagoya Grampus, where he helped his team win the J1 League title.

Mitsuru Chiyotanda's Football Journey

Starting Out: High School and College

Mitsuru Chiyotanda began his football journey early. From 1996 to 1998, he played for Higashi Fukuoka High School. After high school, he continued to play football while attending University of Tsukuba from 1999 to 2002. This period helped him develop his skills as a strong defender.

Professional Debut: Avispa Fukuoka

In 2003, Chiyotanda started his professional career. He joined Avispa Fukuoka, a team in the J2 League. He quickly became an important player for the club. In 2005, he helped Avispa Fukuoka get promoted to the top division, the J1 League. During his four years with the team, he played 104 league games and scored 13 goals.

Moving On: Albirex Niigata and Nagoya Grampus

After his time at Avispa Fukuoka, Chiyotanda moved to Albirex Niigata in 2007. He spent three seasons there, playing in the J1 League. He was a regular starter, appearing in 124 league matches and scoring 6 goals.

In 2010, he joined Nagoya Grampus. This was a very successful period for him. In his first year, he helped Nagoya Grampus win the J1 League title for the first time in the club's history. The following year, in 2011, they finished as runners-up in the league. He played 33 league games for Nagoya Grampus.

Later Career: Júbilo Iwata and Tokushima Vortis

In 2012, Chiyotanda played for Júbilo Iwata in the J1 League. He then moved to Tokushima Vortis in 2013. With Tokushima Vortis, he played in the J2 League and helped them get promoted to the J1 League in 2014. He retired from professional football after the 2014 season.
