Modoc is a small, unincorporated community located in Scott County, Kansas, in the United States. An unincorporated community means it is not officially a city or town with its own local government.
History of Modoc
Modoc has an interesting past with a couple of name changes. It was once known as Plummer. Later, it was also called Isabel for a time.
A post office, which is a place where mail is handled, first opened in Modoc in 1886. This post office served the community for many years. However, it eventually closed down in 1992.
