Mogriguy is a very small village in New South Wales, Australia. It is located about 30 kilometers (18 miles) north of the city of Dubbo. Mogriguy sits on Mogriguy Road and is also near a railway line. In 2011, only about 25 people lived there.
Life in Mogriguy
The land around Mogriguy is mostly used for farming. Farmers raise sheep and grow wheat in this area.
Mogriguy's Past
Mogriguy used to be a busy little community. It had many important buildings and services, including:
- A wheat silo, where grain was stored
- A town hall for community events
- A school for local children
- Tennis courts and a cricket ground for sports
- A post office and a general store
Changes Over Time
Mogriguy became much quieter after a new, sealed road was built. This road made it easy for people to travel to Dubbo, which is a much larger city. Because Dubbo had more shops and services, people started going there instead of staying in Mogriguy.
In recent years, the area has faced another challenge: a severe drought. A drought is a long period with very little rain. This has made it hard for farmers to grow crops and raise animals.
Mogriguy National Park
Part of the Mogriguy National Park is located within the boundaries of Mogriguy. This national park was created in 2005. It helps protect the natural environment and wildlife in the area.
