Her Journey as an Artist
Mojca Osojnik was born in Kranj, Slovenia. She studied art at the Academy of Fine Arts in Ljubljana. She graduated in 1997 and later earned her Master's degree in 2001.
For a few years, from 2001 to 2003, she lived and worked in Los Alamos. This is a town in New Mexico, USA. Mojca has shown her artwork in many exhibitions. These shows have been held both in Slovenia and in other countries. Besides painting, she also writes and illustrates books for children.
Award-Winning Work
In 2003, Mojca Osojnik received a special honor. She won the Levstik Award. This award is very important in Slovenia. It celebrates the best achievements in children's literature. She won it for her wonderful book, Hiša, ki bi rada imela sonce. This title means "The House That Wanted to Be in the Sun."
