Monguí is a charming town and municipality located in the Boyacá Department of Colombia. It's part of the Sugamuxi Province, which is a smaller area within Boyacá. The town was officially started in the year 1601.
In 2010, Monguí received a special title: Pueblo Patrimonio, which means "Heritage Town" of Colombia. It was one of the first 11 towns chosen to be part of the "Tourism Network of Heritage Towns" (Red Turística de Pueblos Patrimonio). This program helps protect and promote towns that have a rich history and culture.
