Linda Monia Paulette Sjöström was born on December 21, 1973, in Ballingslöv, Sweden. She is a talented Swedish singer known for her work in dansband and country music. Monia became famous as a member of the popular band Grönwalls.
Monia helped form the band Grönwalls in 1991. Just one year later, in 1992, her band won the exciting Swedish Dansband Championships contest. This was a big achievement early in her career. In 1997, Monia also took part in Melodifestivalen 1997, a major music competition in Sweden. She performed the song "Nu i dag" and finished in 11th place.
In February 1999, Monia received a special honor. The magazine "Får jag lov" named her the "best dansband voice of Sweden." A few months later, she decided to leave Grönwalls. She wanted to explore a new style of music: country. Monia then released two country albums, "Monia" and "Söderns hjärtas ros." Both albums were very popular and made it onto the Swedish album chart. Her first country album, "Monia," was even recorded in the United States!
In mid-2004, Monia Sjöström returned to sing with Grönwalls. Her talent continued to shine. In 2006, she won the prestigious Guldklaven award. This award is given to top artists during the Swedish Dansband Week in Malung. Monia won in the "Singer of the year" category, showing her continued success.
