Linda Monia Paulette Sjöström was born on December 21, 1973, in Ballingslöv, Sweden. She is a talented Swedish singer known for her work in dansband music. Dansband is a popular type of Swedish dance music.
Monia was one of the original members who formed the band Grönwalls in 1991. The band quickly became successful. In 1992, Grönwalls won the Swedish Dansband Championships, a big competition for dansband groups. Monia also took part in Melodifestivalen 1997, which is Sweden's national music contest to choose a song for the Eurovision Song Contest. Her song "Nu i dag" finished in 11th place.

Becoming a Top Singer
In February 1999, Monia was recognized as the "best dansband voice of Sweden." This honor was given by the magazine "Får jag lov", a well-known publication about dansband music. A few months later, she decided to leave Grönwalls. She wanted to start a career in country music.
Solo Career and Albums
Monia recorded her first solo albums in the United States. Her albums, titled "Monia" and "Söderns hjärtas ros", were very popular. Both albums made it onto the Sverigetopplistan, which is Sweden's official music chart. This showed how much her fans loved her new country music style.
Return to Grönwalls and Awards
In mid-2004, Monia Sjöström rejoined her former band, Grönwalls. Her return was welcomed by fans. In 2006, she received a special award called the Guldklaven. This award is given to top dansband artists. Monia won in the "Singer of the year" category during the Swedish Dansband Week in Malung, a major event for dansband music.
