History of Monroe
Monroe has a bit of history! A long time ago, in 1878, people opened a post office there. This was a place where you could send and receive letters and packages. The post office stayed open for many years. But in 1919, it closed down. The community of Monroe got its name from a very important person. It was named after James Monroe. He was one of the early presidents of the United States.
