Mont Grand-Fonds is a super fun ski resort in Quebec, Canada. It's located in the beautiful Charlevoix region, in a quiet area near La Malbaie. This place is perfect for winter sports like skiing and snowboarding!
Skiing and Snowboarding Fun
Mont Grand-Fonds has lots of exciting trails for everyone. There are 14 alpine trails, which means downhill skiing, and they don't have any flat spots that make you stop! You can also explore 3 glades, which are trails through the trees. If you're just starting, there's a special teaching trail and 3 training trails to help you learn. Plus, there's a cool snow park for tricks and jumps!
If you love cross-country skiing, Mont Grand-Fonds has you covered. It offers 140 kilometers of classic cross-country trails. There are also 46 kilometers of trails for skate-step cross-country skiing, which is a faster style.
The top of the mountain is 735 meters high. The base, where you start, is at 400 meters. This gives you a fun vertical drop of 335 meters to ski down!
Snowy Weather at Mont Grand-Fonds
Mont Grand-Fonds gets a lot of snow, which is fantastic for winter sports! The cold, snowy winters make it a perfect spot for skiing and other activities. The climate here is called a "warm-summer humid continental climate." This means it has warm summers and cold, snowy winters. Sometimes, it can even feel like a "subarctic climate" in the highest parts of the mountains. All that snow is why so many people come here to ski!
