Montaigu, Vendée facts for kids

Montaigu was once a commune, which is like a small local government area in France. It was located in the Pays de la Loire region, specifically in the Vendée department, which is in the western part of France.
On January 1, 2019, Montaigu joined with other nearby communes to form a new, larger commune called Montaigu-Vendée. So, while Montaigu itself is no longer a separate commune, its history and name live on as part of this new, bigger area.
